As a professional I firmly believe that choosing a therapist is
a very personal and important decision.
Studies have
shown one of the most important factors in the therapeutic process
is in the relationship between therapist and client. I encourage
my clients to ask questions, express concerns, and let me know if
we are on target with your goals. I work with you to develop
a vision of what you do want and how I can help you get there.
We all struggle
with varying issues from time to time in our lives. If this is one
of those times - you are not alone.
If you are
working to overcome something that has become an
obstacle, such as...
...or are trying to gain
more direction in...
...then possibly one of the
options I provide will work for you and your situation. If you're
not sure which type of service would be most beneficial I will be
happy to provide a free 15-minute consultation to help you assess
what will work best.
Individuals
I utilize
several approaches in helping you achieve the desired changes you
are searching for. My expertise is geared around
cognitive/behavioral, solution-focused, and system theories. In
short, this means I help you identify and teach you skills to
change thought process and behaviors, focus on what you do want in
your life and relationships, and which healthy or unhealthy
patterns are playing a dominant role in your life.
Couples
Counseling for
couples can be a great benefit whether working towards less
conflict in the relationship or planning a life together. I help
couples learn to communicate effectively, resolve parenting
issues, work through infidelity and trust issues, and develop
collaborative goals.
Families
Families in
whatever shape and size are the most important relationship we
have and because they are so significant, they evoke the strongest
emotions. They bring us the most joy and fulfillment, and the most
heartache and sorrow. In addition, each individual in our family
is unique in spirit, personality, perceptions, and behaviors. This
can be a challenge. I work to help families find a balance between
all these factors by teaching the skills to communicate more
effectively, reduce conflict, and resolve problems that can
deteriorate and undermine the fabric of the family system.
In-Office Counseling
I have office
hours at the Liberty location Mon-Fri. I see clients as
early as 9:00 am and as late as 7:00 pm. I also offer
convenient lunch hour appointments
as needed.
Telephone Counseling
The most
advantageous from of therapy comes from being able to establish a
personal face-to-face connection but I realize, too, that our lives
are busy and often we don't have the time to fit in one more
appointment.
